Motivation
Hydrogen – The Energy Carrier of the Future
Energy shortages, high energy prices, and dependence on energy supplies from third countries can lead to social and economic chaos.
At the same time, climate change demands a rapid and systematic transformation of the global energy system. Addressing these interconnected challenges is one of the defining tasks of our time.
Hydrogen is emerging as a key energy carrier in the transition toward a sustainable, low-carbon economy. When produced using renewable energy sources such as hydropower, solar energy, geothermal energy, and wind power, green hydrogen enables the storage, transport, and flexible utilization of clean energy across sectors.
As a versatile and scalable solution, hydrogen not only enhances energy security and grid stability but also supports the decarbonization of industry, mobility, and power generation. It offers substantial technological, economic, and strategic potential—making it a cornerstone of the future energy landscape.

“Water will be the coal of the future,” wrote Jules Verne in 1870 in The Mysterious Island, referring to water decomposed by electricity. Hydrogen is set to play a central role in the future energy and oxygen supply. It serves both as a directly utilized end energy carrier — for example in industrial applications — and as a secondary energy carrier, enabling large-scale energy storage for wind and solar power as well as the production of synthetic hydrocarbons.
These can be stored and transported flexibly and used to supply a wide range of consumers.
This leads to greater energy independence and security of supply. Ongoing geopolitical tensions and global market disruptions clearly demonstrate the risks associated with one-sided dependencies in the energy sector. The expansion of renewable energy plays a decisive role in reducing reliance on imported raw materials and mitigating the impact of volatile energy prices.
Mobility without petroleum. Hydrogen and electric mobility offer tremendous potential. Enhancing the flexibility of the energy system is one of the defining challenges of the future.
Fair and transparent pricing, independence from external suppliers, protection against unforeseen price increases, and the opportunity to generate and sell energy — renewable energy opens up entirely new possibilities.
We coordinate the seamless collaboration of all required areas of expertise, from initial planning and engineering through commissioning and long-term operation and maintenance of the plant.
